1 Day Course

Overview

Our 1 Day Course is an interactive, informative and fun Cooking Class & Market Tour.  It runs a little over half a day from 9am til about 2pm and although it is billed as “Your Introduction to the Thai Kitchen”, aspiring Thai Chefs of all skill levels will find it rewarding.  The pace is unrushed and the setting is relaxed in our Traditional Thai Teak House.  Students can deep dive into local daily life at Hua Hin’s 100 Year old “Chatchai Market” and immerse themselves in Thai food culture as they prepare, cook and devour Thai delicacies.

How Much does it Cost?

Adults (12+ yrs):  1,800 Thai baht per person  (net and all inclusive)

Children (6-11):   1,000 Thai baht per person  (net and all inclusive)

Children (0-5):         free to accompany (generally children this age are too young to participate in the the class – we ask that you please bring some snacks as there is no option to order additional food/meals)


1 Day Course Itinerary (approx.)

8:40 am – 9:00 am  Pickup from Hotel (approximate time – a precise time will be advised during the booking process).

9:00 am – 10:00 am  Soak up the atmosphere of the bustling Afternoon Market while learning about ingredients and how to choose them.  Gain valuable insight into Thai Food Culture via Traditional Thai Markets.  Most Thais shop here daily and they are found in pretty much every neighborhood.

10:00 am – 10:10 am  Arrive at the Cooking School, receive the colour Recipe Booklet and get acquainted with the Instructor & fellow class mates.  Help yourself to some hot tea or coffee.

10:10 am – 10:40 am  Prepare & cut the ingredients to be used for the day. Further learning about Thai ingredients as well as cutting techniques, alternative uses and substitutes that can be used. 

10:40 am – 11:00 am  A crash course on Thai Curry Pastes.  Students will prepare and pound out a curry paste from scratch. Using a mortar and pestle with fresh ingredients that they have chopped & diced in the previous step.

11:00 am – 12:30 pm  Time to cook!  Work with woks, pots and various cooking tool as you cook the 4 dishes under the watchful eye of the instructor and her assistants. Then sit down to enjoy your delicious creations! After cooking each dish sit down to enjoy while it is hot and fresh.  Take a moment to make some notes while discussing the fruits of your labour with classmates.

12:30 pm – 12:50 pm  Certificate Presentation & photo opportunities with the Instructors.  Students are welcome to take as many photos as they like throughout the day and we are on hand to help.

12:50 pm – 1:20 pm  Transportation back to Hotels and/or Meeting points.


Important Info re Schedules

  • We are currently working with 4 different Menus Sets. You can find out more about the Menus here.
  • If you are the first to book a Class date you are able to choose the menu we will work with for that class.  If a different menu has already been nominated for the date you have chosen we will provide alternative dates and options. We don’t have a schedule whereby specific menus are only on certain days.
